Its been 3 months since there was an update on my blog..hmm,this shows how busy was I the past weeks @ work...no kidding, have a launch comin up so was way too busy at work and so at home..

well neways,the News about OBAMA'S NOBEL PEACE PRIZE broke the ice.. heard this line on NPR this morning, but me and M thot we wud have heard wrong.. or they were talking about some nominees, I was totally shocked,surprised and confused and couldn't believe when we reheard that he Won the Nobel Prize..He won?? but why?? I felt there are many others who deserved it than the President. As per CNN - The Norwegian Nobel Committee said it honored Obama for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples." Nominations for the prize had to be postmarked by February 1 -- only 12 days after Obama took office. The committee sent out its solicitation for nominations last September -- two months before Obama was elected president !!! Even before he took office he was nominated??? Did I miss somthing??? Check out CNN for an elaborated news!! Well, I would never understand these y's and hows!!!

Coming, to my personal updates.. we moved to a new apt a montha and ahalf ago, and have been busy ever since..
It's supposed to b fall in Mi but it rains all the time these days and weather is all gloomy just like me..

About Ugadi:

People of karnataka and Andhra call this ugadi,the people of Maharashtra term the same festivalas Gudi Padwa. Sindhis,call this as Cheti Chand.

Ugadi heralds the dawn of Vasanth Rutu(Spring Season),which is considered the first season of the year (Chaitra Maasam).
Ugadi,brings in so many things mangoes,and wonderful flowers like Kanakambaram(forgot teh english name!!) Jasmine etc...Telugu people celebrate this festival with great enthusiasm.Family and extended family meet and greet.

A Uniqueness to ugadhi eating "Ugadi Pachadi" - A mixture of six tastes,Shadruchulu,which symbolizes that life is a mixture of all the experiences, happy,sad,fear etc..

The ingredients of Ugadi Pachadi,are:
Neem Buds/Flowers for bitterness
Raw Mango for tangoness
Tamarind Juice for sourness
Green Chilli/Pepper for heat
Jaggery for sweetness
Pinch of Salt for saltiness.

Another uniqueness to this festival is "Panchanga Sravanam",an almanac which describes about how the the coming year would be for the people and the state in general is read by an elderly person and people gather to hear the same.

Another typical feautre is "Kavi Sammelanam",Poetry Recitation.Poets come up with new poems and make an appearence on the ugadhi stage taking about political, comic, satirical reformist, literary and melancholic issues.

Ugadi is thus a festival of many shades. It ushers in the new year, brings a rich bounce of flora and fills the hearts of people with joy and contentment.

Dash of Color!!

I remembered and was discussing with M that today was holi and we should have a dash of color on each other!! but forgot all about it once I woke up and was so bzee gettin ready to work.. didnt even remember till I came to work and saw an e-mail from a friend... hmm, In India the day starts with that bonfire and roads are filled with people and colors and shouts and laughs and what not!! Miss all that colors..fun..friends..food !! I wish I could go to India for every festival and come back

After going home i'll try to play holi for atleast 5 mins with haldi n kumkum atleast!! !!!

Past one month has been a busy and very rewarding to ARRahman and India. Born as A S Dileep Kumar, the son of Malayalam film music composer R K Shekhar, Rahman started learning the keyborad at the age of 4 and was a wizard by the age of 11. Later, he switched to the synthesizer, now his signature instrument. The family converted to Islam after his father passed away.

At 11, Rahman joined composer Illaiyaraja’s troupe as a keyboard player and played with M S Vishwanathan, Zakir Hussain etc on various concerts. He dropped out of school in Class 11, but received a scholarship to go to Trinity College of Music, Oxford for a degree in western classical music.

At an advertising awards function, Rahman met one of India's most famous directors, Mani Ratnam. Rahman played him a few of his music samples. Mani loved them so much that he asked Rahman to compose the music for his next film, Roja (1992). The rest, is history.

Allah Rakha Rahman is married to Saira Bano and is blessed with three children, Khatija, Rahima, and Aman. Rahman is related to the southern Indian actor Rashin Rahman. Rahman is the uncle of composer G. V. Prakash Kumar.

Awards:
Rahman is the 1995 recipient of the Mauritius National Award and the Malaysian Award for contributions to music. He was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for his first West-End production. A four time National Film Award winner and conferred the Padma Shri from the Government of India, Rahman has received six awards for Best Music at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and eleven awards for his scores at the Filmfare and Filmfare Awards South each. There are people who treat Rahman as a GOD and Rahmanism as a religion. My cousin Phani Kalyan A.K.A Rahmantic Fello(tats wat he calls himself)is one of those, a student of Rahman's School of Music @ Chennai, if you talk to to him for 5 mins 4 mins he talks abt none other than Rahman and music.. an ardent lover of the music maestro..Today is his b'day and want to wish him a very Happy Birthday.
Since,he joined the music school, he has been composing quite a few songs but recently he composed ,sang recorded it and gave to ARR as a dedication on his b'day. I loved the composition and posting it here for you all to listen...

Sankranthi-The Harvest Festival, is a three-day festival in Andhra Pradesh. The Bhogi festival is observed on the first day and second day is the most important day and is known as Sankranthi or Pongal. The third day of the festival is Kanuma.Uttarayana Punnyakalam(Sun's northern course in the Heavens)begins with Sankranthi and the next six months are considered highly auspicious.

Bhogi,the first day of Pongal is celebrated in honor of Lord Indra, "the God of Clouds and Rains". Lord Indra is worshiped for the abundance of harvest, thereby bringing plenty and prosperity to the land.
Bhogi Mantalu, light up a bonfire with several old articles in their house signifying warding off the evil spirts and welcoming good. Many celebrate Bhogi pallu, will be put on the heads of kids to get rid of Dishti. The second day is Sankranti, the big festival, when everyone wears new clothes and pray to their favourite God by offering sweets. Kanuma Panduga (Kanuma) is less celebrated but is an integral part of Sankranti culture.
Mukkanuma is famous among the non-vegetarians of the society.

Sankranthi is synonymous to Bommala koluvu, bhogi pallu,Gali patalu (pathang),muggulu, gobemmalu,kodi pandaalu (cock-fighting),festive feast, perantam,Budabukkalavallu,Haridasu,Gangireddulavallu.

Chinappudu sankranthi vasthe chalu.. paina ninchi dabbalu teyatam..bommalu tudavatam.. tables saddatam.. bommalu pettadaniki atleast oka 3-4 hrs pattedi, ma deggara unna oldest bomma is around 35 years old !!! .. tatagaru (granddad), deggara undi mari pettinchevaru.. eera tinesara.. bommalu teyyaree ani!!!! Thus, the harvest festival of Pongal symbolizes the veneration of the first fruit. The crop is harvested only after a certain time of the year, and cutting the crop before that time is strictly prohibited. Even though Pongal was originally a festival for the farming community, today it is celebrated by all.

Monday Morning Blues!!!

Ask anybody a school kid, a working man/women,a house-wife anybody how do they feel on a monday, u'll hear the same answer I HATE MONDAY !!! for me monday sickness starts from 4 sunday evening, u have this dull, sick feeling that for the next 5 days its gonna be the same story.. wake up- cook- work-home-cook-clean-tv-sleep,
feels like a never ending cycle ..

Last Monday I was told that friday/this monday(today) would be my last working day, I was supposed to be released from my project but things some how worked out and I was told that my project's extended for a while ( Donno till how far, everybody knows wats happening with BIG 3 and I work for Ford) so was too excited over the weekend and this monday is a whole lot different..
we have a christmas break for the next 12 days starting tomorrow afternoon and once again u'll see me after Jan 4th complaining about Mondays again!!!
Btw, did I tell u that we are goin to florida on vacation!!!

INSTALLING A HUSBAND

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance,particularly in the flower and jewelry applications,which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0 .

In addition, Husband 1.0 un-installed many other valuable programs, such as: Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as :
NBA 5.0,
NFL 3.0 and
Golf Clubs 4.1

Also Conversation 8.0 no longer runs,and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems,but to no avail.

What can I do?

First, keep in mind,Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If that application works as designed,Husband 1.0 should then automatically run
the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5 , Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1 .

Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your systems resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 -program These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program,but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and lingere 7.7.

1.I like having Diary milk,Kit-Kat or anyother Chocolate covered wafer after the choc melts a bit and sticks to my hand (there are times when I have microwaved chocolate ) .. hmm I just love it!!!

2.I'm not much of an ironing person but always iron the bed linens after puttin them on the mattress.. its easier that way!! I just cant sleep on wrinked bedsheets :p

3.Always wanted to try sneakers on a saree :) (weird hah!! )

4.BIG problems don’t seem to affect me… silly things upsets me & I break into tears most of the time.

5.Biting nails. If u see me biting nails you can take it for granted that somthin is bothering me and i'm thinkin abt somthin terribly :)

Ages ago Swathi, tagged me with this topic.I have been lazy for a while and sick too ;) ..wanted to post this on his B'day but cudnt make it! but now its high time!!and here I go..

I was always a kiddish and a bubbly girl,hardly cared abt wats gonna happen tomorrow,and was always in my own world.. my frds my school my job my family and all about me!!!
If someone asked me abt what kinda person I was intrested in and whom i'd say a soulmate ..my answer was " tall,six feet, thin legs, smile with a dimple,fair,a lil muscular not too skinny,short hair , someone who's my soulmate,with whom I have a deep and natural affinity , someone who loved me like or more than my dad, who wud always b there for me on the whisper of his name ,who loves me who cares me more than anything and the list went on.. "

I always wondered if I'd find one and if i find wat if i find more than one!! Silly me :p

Before I gave it much of a thought here was this guy whom I knew as a frd of a frd,who later proposed and wanted to marry me..I thought y not give it a try after all he almost matched all my criteria but for the skinny part and six feet part,he's 5"10 ;) ..had to adjust cuz all other criteria matched :p.. I wasnt sure if he was my soulmate when I first met him or talked to him , but once I got to know him better we were inseperable ever since,had to say he was my soulmate ..and after the introductions to either families and the consent of the parents he is now my dear husband "M"!

well,now comin to the tag rules ..changes cuz of my dear husband..

my world changed from mine to His and Us.. its no more my frds,my dress,my pillow, my ipod..its all about him now.. his brkfast, his bday, his frds,his like,his dislikes..

Never expect anythin in return if you do somthing for others, thats wat he says .. do it if you want to do,dont it if u dont want to.. but dont expect them to do somthin for u in return not even a "Thanks".. This saved me quite a few times from that agony when you xpect somthin from others ..(this includes "M" too ) !!

I was sooo short temepered,used to get mad a ppl like crazy, but now i'm no more like that..I used to shout a ppl and drool over the issue the whole day and i wondered wat impression I had on others,I got over it now..both the short temepredness and droolin over the issues! I don wat am I supposed to do and move on...

last and the most terrible change is..I was an "early to bed and early to rise" type of a bird, but post marriage, i'm more like followin husbands footsteps.. late to bed and late to rise.. and do mostly nuthin over the weekend..sleep like a potato and lazyly draggin all the stuff!

well, these are the major things that changed after accompanying my sm..
I shd say I didnt change much ever since, cuz he accepts me the way Iam and we both are happy with the way we are with each other..

Hey all

Its been a while I have scribbled somthin here,was recovering from a nose surgery which i underwent last wednesday!! well, it wasnt a major surgery but a pretty big one (pain wise ;) ) .. I always had this prob of "Polyps" some weird thing in the nose and from the time it was detected when I was in my 5th Std, I have had 5 operations (till recent one)as its a recurring one.. and yeah yeah i'm kinda getting used to it,the surgeries as well as the pain ;) ..

Thot of posting my pic after the surgery.. but dont want to scare ya all off !!

I'm fine now.. and will keep posting!! You guys keep Visiting !!!

Scientists in Geneva on Wednesday launched preliminary experiments to test the Big Bang theory of the universe's origins and other beliefs about how matter and mass formed.

For the tests, they built a giant contraption called the Large Hadron Collider(LHC) . In this unit they designed to smash sub-atomic particles /protons into each other at extremely high speeds such that events are created similar to those occured during the formation of the universe :0 .. manam inka alive ee kada so parledhu eemo veella experiments.. hopefully!

A machine called an ATLAS detector could capture snapshots of the conditions, which physicists believe will be similar to those that existed immediately after the Big Bang.

my India trip

Well as promised here's my post about my India trip.Though it was a very short trip for 2 weeks, it's the most memorable visit for me and surprisng ever for everyone back home.

It's my younger brother's Engagement and my parents told us that we should be there for the event.. We told them that we'll make it if possible , but we were in a fix if we cud make it or not cuz of the layoff's stuff going on at my workplace, we didnt want to take any chance or give any chance to anyone asking a vacation or so, so told everyone back home the same and told them that we might not be able to make it. But days passing by things were looking Ok at work and I once all the layoffs were announced i asked for a vaction and it was all set(if they didnt want to give me approval thot of takin it myself :p )but,M couldnt make it cuz there's this other guy in his project who was leavin on a vacation( its his marriage! he had to go ! :p ) so he couldnt come!
Even if things wre moving briskly we still didnt tell my parents that I was coming cuz we never know till the last minute as I wasnt getting any better itineary and we wanted to keep it that way cuz we didnt want to disappoint K (Kalyan ,my brother) telling him that we are coming and then we cant. After all was set we thot let be a surprise to my parents and everyone bk home so we told noone, bought the tkt 4-5 days prior to the flight (though the itineary sucked, had to compromise) and started packing.
I keep talkin to my parents almost everyday so just happened to ask dad wat was he doing over the weekend and will he be home.. too my surprise here .. bwaahhh he told me that he was goin to visit my utns place on saturday and will be goin to warangal to look after the work and will b bk to hyd on monday.. I had everything worked up told one of my frds to come and pick me up from the airport and surprise my parents but bwaaaahhh dad wasnt gonna be there.. hmm , we were wondering how shd we do this! me and M thot that I'll call up my dad from Amsterdam and tell him..
atlast, the day of my arrival came Aug 15th , I was workin from home that day talked to mom and dad and told them that my cell might not be workin over teh wekend cuz we were goin to canada :p ..
my flight was departed at 5:20 and and almost 91/2 hrs later reached amsterdam. From Amsterdam I call up my dad(it was around 11 noon in India )and again ask him so wat r u upto for the weekend he repeats the same story, then I tell him is it possible for you to come and pick me up tomorrow mor at 8 IST .. he was like what ??? I said "yeah, you heard right! can u come and pick me up? I boarded the flight and i'm half way. Do not tell mom or K abt it ..Promise me !!! " my god he was so excited i cud make out that surprise and happiness in his words .. he said OK i'll pick ya up at 8 and again i'm back wandering in the airport and it was time for my boarding on to my next flight to Delhi( mine wasnt a direct flight it was Delhi-Hyderabad , had an overnight stay at Delhi and then to Hyderabad).. Got down a t Delhi, god it was such a boring flight, they served some stupid food on my secod fligh and i was kinda food-poisoined, the flight was terrible the stay at Delhi was terrible and tiring.. but was just thinkin abt home and had to spend the time...
Atlast it ws time for my Hyderabd flight and thankgod it was a very pleasent flight reached airport at around 8am and dad was there to pick me up it was almost 40-45 mins drive to home and when reached home you shd see my mom and brother then cudnt believe that I was there.. K was in a total shock.. he hugged me and didnt leave me for 5 mins .. he was like is this true is this true!!
Mom was telling me that my dad was behaving quite weird from last afternoon he keeps shouting in between his talks and he is all excited,singing and dancing and stuff.. and he made up a story with my mom that day that he have to go back home that night from my aunts place cuz there were very imp clients (guess i already mentioned, both my parents are Advocates) comin for him the next day and have has to be at office .. :) ..that was pretty impressive story!

we catch up with some talk over a cup of cofee and Dad was busy calling up everyone and telling them that I was there..
Well, now its my in-laws turn, my FIL picks up the fone and asks if everythin was alright and all's gud at home i said everythin and everybody is perfect and i came for K's engagement , they were very happy too!!!My MIL was sweet as usual and she was laughing all the while...

well, this was how my surprise to my parents and K was!
I never told nobody here and there that I was comin cuz I didnt want noone to ruin the surprise. I just told my Uncle and a cousin (me and my cousin were to come back to US together). On the whole, it was pretty gud !

Well, coming to the Event now!!! K's Engagement

It was on 21 August, all my cousins and relatives were there and it was at
to-be bride's house, have met their parents before the engagement, they were very warm and very affectionate.The event went very well and everyone enjoyed every moment. I was glad I cud make it.

Well,This is about it and yeah at the end of the day ,it is these relationships that matter, even if how far we are from each other its this love and affection that keeps us together.. M was sad that he couldn't make his presence cuz of his work issues, but he No No We'll be there for the Wedding next year!

yeah I know I know, am 3 days late in celebrating/posting abt friendship day.. was busy at work the whole time, and you all know how busy are we over the weekend :) ..

In the words of Aristotle "Man is a social Animal" thus we have always valued the importance of people and relationships in our lives.Friendship is one such relationship that involve effection,trust,laughs,love,care support everything...

The US Congress decided to designate the first Sunday of August as Friendship Day and with a formal proclamation in 1935, officially declared the day dedicated in the honour of friends and friendship(though the exact reason behind this is not known, might be because of the world war II , I didnt do much research though ;))..
Since then, celebration of Friendship Day became an annual event and this idea of honoring friendship caught on with the people and became a very popular festival.

The customs of Friendship Day includes handing over roses, especially the pink and yellow ones , cards, gifts and the most popular thing associated with the day is the well-known Friendship Band - the modern day token(rakhi :p ) of friendship that friends gift to one another to form an everlasting bond. There are many stories about the starting of this trend. One of them says that the idea was born from the 6
letters in the word “friend” that could be woven up together.

But this occasion of Friendship was not to be limited to the US alone. With time,almost every other nation was adopting this tradition. well, in India this tradition has started recently ..
Friendship day was quite a fun when I was in college.Gifts and bands and cakes and longdrives and gossips ..gwaad wat not!
But now after coming here,we hardly have time to celebrate, every other weekend we are busy with the daily chores or shd I say weekly chores like laundry, grocery etc etc .. :( , this year I cud call my best friend only in the afternoon to wish her.. silly me ...
Miss all those days, miss all those frds and miss all those fun ...

here I come with my second post...

Its friday today, and a usual was not in a mood to work , so I call up my parents to talk to them for a while, I call up home and my dad tells me that my pednannagaru(Mom's Sisters Husband) passed away. this brought back all the memories with them when we were small.
He was a very gud peron, perfect gentleman, very soft-spoken, down to earth person I have ever seen in my life, he was a perfect example of a perfect husband and a very perfect father.
I wonder how everyone back home are holding up...

Thinkin abt all this, brings all the other thoughts and it does sometime scares me.. are worth all this ? are we worth living this far away from parents missing all the small things in life,like going out on a friday night to a coffee pub, those rides with brother, pani puri with frds, helpin mom making dosas in the kitchen! be it a birthday party or a family gettogether or anything.. if somthin happens to us be it gud or bad there is noone to support us this far .. !
I know that we have frds here but I feel frds here are just for the sake of being frds, every one's busy with their own lives and families who in the world have time for you to listen to you, talk to u out of your problems, give u a shoulder to cry, hug u when u r happy , or warn u when u do a mistake? I dont think so!

and yeah when you speak to anyone about this ofocurse we know the answer .." who asked you to stay here just go back home and live the way you want to" !.. but it is always gud if life is as gud as we think and as gud as we want it to be! hahahaha... this cud never happen!!!!
Everything is a "WANT" for man.. all "wants " ultimately becomes "needs" .. in this process we dont want to stop what we are doing now and go back... But in this process aren't we missing anything and everything ????

A big Hi ..hello.. namste.. aadab to everyone.....
Well this is my first ever post in a "Blog". I first heard about "blog" may be a year or two years ago.. since then always wanted to try my hand at "blogging" at last the moment has arrived. [cutain raiser...] .
well, few things describing me I have already posted in "about me" using few gud adjectives ..comin to the other side, i shd say im n eccentric , over confident (most of the times), practical , outspoken , naughty girl ... (wow.. guess i shd brush up on my adjectives knowldge now! :p , hardly remember any other adjectives) well, my husband can give few more adjs abt me! or you can fill up the blanks for me...

A software professional living in the US ( wat elsen where else ???? ) and working as a consultant ( wonder if anyone give me a full-time job ;)) . A typical Leo with all those so-called leadership qualties [:p] . A total buff of music and dance . Loveee going on long drives prefeerably on a bike , never had a chance in US though. Always wanna try doing different new things, start some , continue sme and leave some.. shd see wat will happen with this "blogging" of mine .. I shd say 'am a Jack of all trades but master of none.
